Hey Alsdad and all..
I have just received my 12 wk test results after finishing treatment with Sof/Dac for 12 wks. Although I was shown undetected at 4wks during treatment my 12 wk post treatment came back with < 25 UI/mL which I don't know what to make of it. The method of treatment was quantitative PCR in real time (COBAS TaqMan, Roche)
Any thoughts anyone?

Hi Zanametambien. Is that result the end of treatment result or 12 weeks after end of treatment?

Sorry Alsdad for the delayed response.. No this is 12wks after end of treatment viral load exam result, that is why I am a bit freaked out.. I am trying to search the web for answers as I did not have a viral load performed upon finishing treatment as I thought it would be logical that if I was undetected at 4 wks that I would have been at end of treatment, that is why I waited until 12 weeks after treatment. But am surprised to say the least..

The DAA's that we've used normally only stay in the body for a short time after discontinuation, and the hep c virus normally replicates very quickly to an easily quantifiable level if there is a relapse. Does the latest result state 'detected' or 'not detected'? If not, you should phone the testing lab and ask them to explain the result. In any case, I'd be tempted to have another VL test done (if not prohibitively expensive) before deciding on your next move. Good luck.
