Thank you for sharing this story. It is reassuring to see that you managed to do this and find someone to monitor you privately. Once this becomes more normalised and common hopefully attitudes will change within the NHS. I'm awaiting an appointment end of the month and will see what they say then. Genotype 1. Thanks again, deb.

Hello debs, and thanks for your support. At the moment, Big Pharma pretty much has a closed market in Western countries, which is why they get away with charging obscene prices for cheap-to-produce medicine. The way I see it is, the more we publicise availability of generics, the more interest we get, the more people we attract to this route for treatment. And the more people in the medical profession we can win over (which will only be done by taking the iniative as individuals and proving to them that these generics work), the more it will take off and make real inroads into HCV+ patient numbers. And then Big Pharma will have no option other than face up to reality and make it's pricing structures more competitive. Then even bigger inroads will be made to eradicate the blight on humanity that is HCV, instead of humanity being used as a steady, constant and endless 'cash cow' for Big Pharma's bank accounts. Rant over .

It's a file size isssue. You'll have to compress it below 1mb. If the forum gets busy, premium packages can be purchased that allow for bigger file uploads etc.
What size caps did you use anyway?

I used size 3 for my Dac. Very easy to swallow. Yeah, the Indian Sof pills are as big as suppositories .

Size 3 is the smallest one. How did you managed to get any Dac inside it?

Miniature penknife and hands very steady from not drinking for 18 months . Because of the small size, it was easy to guestimate how much to put in: Filling the big part to three quarters was thereabouts for 60mg.

It is a very interesting and encouraging story. Congratulations on your success so far. Are you half way through your tx at the moment? Are you planning to go for 12 weeks? I'm just at the beginning of my journey for tx, but hope it won't be too long until I start.

Yes, six weeks next Monday Dan. I'm getting a fibroscan done soon. If there's no significant fibrosis, I'll do twelve weeks. If there is, then I'll probably extend, subject to amount of fibrosis and in consultation with my Hepatologist.

Hi Alsdad
Sorry it's taken me so long to come over. As you know Ive started tx on sofos/daclats and 6 days into treatment. Hi everyone, Im an aussie and have geno 1b since the early 80s. Treated previously for 63 weeks on IFN/riba and relapsed, 2008. So thankful to you Alsdad for duplicating all the info from fixhepc.com and buyers club. You rock mate and all aussie hepers appreciate what you are doing. Heres hoping that more and more UK and US based hepers get reasonable access to cheap DAA generics. Em
